Pierre Coffin, born in 1967, is a French animator and director trained at the Gobelins in Paris. He co-directed the first four installments of the Despicable Me franchise and created the Minions, earning him the Kids Family Award at the 10th Seiyu Awards. A producer, writer, and voice actor, Coffin's work has received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
