Biography
Margaret Halstan was a British stage and screen actress known for her Shakespearian roles, including Desdemona in Othello. A classically trained performer, she made her professional debut in 1895 with the Strolling players and later joined prominent theatre companies such as Sir Frank Benson's and Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree's. Halstan transitioned to silent films in 1916, launching a six-decade-long career that showcased her talent for playing upper-class ladies of the gentry.
