The Holly and the Ivy

The Holly and the Ivy is a 1952 British drama film about an English clergyman's neglect of his grown children, who gather for Christmas at his remote village home in Norfolk. The film centers around Reverend Martin Gregory (Ralph Richardson), a parish priest who is more devoted to his parishioners than his own family. His daughters Jenny (Celia Johnson) and Margaret (Margaret Leighton) struggle with their own personal issues, including Jenny's desire to marry engineer David and Margaret's struggles with her past and her relationship with her father.
