Biography

Johnny Downs was a child actor who rose to fame in the Our Gang series, playing Johnny from 1923 to 1926. After outgrowing the role at age 14, he transitioned to vaudeville with fellow alumni Mary Kornman and Scooter Lowry. He later found success in college musicals of the late 1930s, often cast as a team captain or cheerleader due to his boy-next-door charm.
