Biography

Karin Himboldt (1920–2005) was a German film actress known for her roles in Heinz Rühmann's comedy films, including Quax the Crash Pilot and Die Feuerzangenbowle. Her career was marred by a 1944 ban from filming due to her refusal of the Nazi salute at Die Feuerzangenbowle's premiere, as well as her marriage to a self-proclaimed "Half-Jew". She retired from film acting in 1959 and later married the head of a Basel-based chemical company.
