The Punch Bowl

Heinz Rühmann plays Dr. Johannes Pfeiffer/Hans Pfeiffer, a writer who goes undercover as a student at a small-town secondary school to experience life after being homeschooled. As pupil "Hans Pfeiffer", he gains a reputation for pranksterism and eventually falls in love with the headmaster's daughter Eva. The film follows his adventures and eventual reveal of his true identity, set against the backdrop of a famous German tradition.
