Nan Goldin
Biography
Nancy Goldin, born September 12, 1953, is an American photographer and activist known for her poignant work exploring LGBT subcultures, intimacy, and social justice issues like the HIV/AIDS crisis and opioid epidemic. Her 1986 monograph "The Ballad of Sexual Dependency" documents the post-Stonewall gay subculture and her personal connections to it. A founding member of P.A.I.N., Goldin lives and works in New York City.
