Johannes Grenzfurthner is an Austrian filmmaker and artist born in 1975 in Vienna. He founded the art collective monochrom in 1993 with Franz Ablinger as a fanzine exploring cyberculture and politics, which later evolved into a full-fledged alternative magazine and artistic entity. As a filmmaker, Grenzfurthner creates works that blend essayistic reflection, genre cinema, and dark satire, often incorporating performance, media art, and publishing elements. His films frequently explore the intersection of technology and subculture.
