Biography

Alice Roberts was a Belgian actress active from the late 1920s to the late 1930s. She gained recognition for her role as Countess Anna Geschwitz in Georg Wilhelm Pabst's silent film Pandora's Box (1929), which featured overt lesbian overtures between her character and Louise Brooks's Lulu. Roberts' performance is notable for being one of the first cinematic representations of queer female desire. She passed away in 1985 at the age of 79.
