Biography
Moon Unit Zappa was born in New York City on September 28, 1967, to musician Frank Zappa and Gail Sloatman. She rose to fame as a teenager with her appearance on her father's hit single "Valley Girl" in 1982, which popularized phrases from the song's "valleyspeak" slang. In the mid-1980s, she became a frequent guest VJ on MTV alongside her brother Dweezil, further cementing her status as a young celebrity of the era.
