Biography

Sir Donald Wolfit was a renowned English actor-manager known for his portrayal of King Lear and starring roles in notable productions like "Becket" and "Lawrence of Arabia". Born into a middle-class family in Nottinghamshire, he began acting at a young age, joining the Robin Hood Opera House theatre company and later touring with Charles Doran and Fred Terry. He founded his own company, performing Shakespeare's works across Britain and the West End.
