Charles Henry Smith was a US author and actor, best known for his work as a writer and actor in Buster Keaton films. He wrote the screenplay for The Silver Lining (1921) and collaborated on the stories and gags for The Killer of Alabama (1926) and Der General (1926), in which he played Annabelle's father. A writer and actor for over a decade, Smith retired from the film industry in 1929, leaving behind a legacy as a behind-the-scenes talent.
