Biography

Urs Rechn was born on January 18, 1978, in Halle an der Saale, Germany. After serving in the German military, he attended the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig, graduating in 2004. He gained international recognition for his role as Oberkapo Biedermann in László Nemes' Holocaust drama Son of Saul, which won the Grand Prix at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2016.
