Biography

Jimmy Butler was a talented young American actor, active in the 1930s and early 1940s. He made his screen debut in 1933's Only Yesterday and gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of Jim Wade in Manhattan Melodrama in 1934. A star of No Greater Glory, Butler's promising career was cut short when he died in World War II combat in France on February 18, 1945.
