Raisa Kurkina

Biography

Raissa Kurkina, born on October 7, 1927, in Pokrovka, Tula Governorate, began her career as a kindergarten educator, working for seven years before attending the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies. She later honed her acting skills at the V. K. Lvovsky Theatre School and graduated in 1956. Her breakthrough in film came in 1955, and she went on to appear in over sixty films, including the 1969 Soviet drama "Beloe solntse pustyni."
