Cynthia Harris

Biography

Cynthia Lee Harris was born in New York City in 1934 to a haberdasher father and his wife Deborah. She began studying theater at age 12 and graduated from Smith College with degrees in theater and literature. Harris earned a BAFTA Award nomination for her role as the Duchess of Windsor in Edward & Mrs. Simpson, before playing the recurring role of Sylvia Buchman on the sitcom Mad About You for five seasons.
