Biography

Louisa Emma Amelia "Louie" Pounds was a talented English singer and actress, born in Brompton, Kensington, London on February 12, 1872. She initially pursued a secretarial career before joining the chorus of a George Edwardes show in 1890, quickly advancing to leading roles in burlesque and musical comedy. Pounds then joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, creating several roles alongside her siblings, before later resuming her career in musical comedies.
