Michael Francis Moore is a progressive American filmmaker and author born April 23, 1954. He gained widespread recognition for his award-winning documentary Roger & Me (1989), which exposed the decline of the automotive industry in 1980s Flint and Detroit. Moore's subsequent films, including Bowling for Columbine (2002) and Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004), have become critically acclaimed and commercially successful, earning him numerous accolades and controversy.
