Biography

Kassagi, born Abd El-maǧīd al-QaṣʿAǧī in 1932, began his career as a pickpocket at 12, leading him to meet renowned film director Robert Bresson, who cast him as an instructor and accomplice in the 1959 film "Pickpocket." After the film, Kassagi transitioned to a stage magician, mastering a technique that blended his pickpocketing skills with magic. He became a celebrated figure in French and international magic shows.
