Biography

Yoshikazu Fujimoto is a renowned taiko player and instructor, co-founding Kodo in 1981 and remaining the group's most senior performing member. He was awarded inka-no-sho in 1998 for his mastery of the demon sword dance, Onikenbai. Fujimoto has led numerous workshops and has been a dedicated head of Sado Island's demon sword dance group since 2007. He was also appointed Japan's Cultural Envoy in 2012.
