Sherwan Haji

Biography

Sherwan Haji is a Kurdish-Finnish actor, filmmaker, and writer born on March 18, 1985. He graduated from the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in Damascus and later earned a Master of Arts with distinction in Film and TV Production from Anglia Ruskin University. Haji made his mark in Finnish cinema with a leading role in Aki Kaurismäki's "The Other Side of Hope" (2017), for which he received the prize for best actor at the Dublin International Film Festival.
