Biography

Anne Wiazemsky was a French actress and novelist of Russian ancestry, born in Berlin in 1947 to a diplomat father and writer mother. She made her cinema debut at 18 in Robert Bresson's Au hasard Balthazar (1966) and went on to appear in several films by Jean-Luc Godard, including La Chinoise and Week End. Her writing career included novels such as Canines and Hymnes à l'Amour, based on her experiences with Godard.
