Biography

Maria Schneider was a French actress known for her provocative performances in films like Last Tango in Paris and The Passenger, opposite Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson respectively. Her career was marked by controversy, including walking out of productions and facing trauma after being unaware of the simulated rape scene in Last Tango in Paris. She later became an advocate for equality and improved working conditions for actresses, re-establishing stability in her personal and professional life in the early 1980s.
