Oscar James

Biography

Oscar James is a Trinidadian actor born on July 25, 1942, who had a poor upbringing before coming to the United Kingdom in the 1950s. He pursued his dream of becoming an entertainer, initially working as a taxi driver and dish-washer while honing his skills as a gymnast. James became a founding member of Temba, the first black British theatre company, co-founded with Alton Kumalo in 1972.
