Biography

Jan Holden, born Valerie Jeanne Wilkinson on May 9, 1931, spent her early childhood in India before moving to schools in the Simla hills. After her twin brother's tragic death in the early 1960s, she continued her education in Britain, boarding at Lowther College in North Wales. Holden's early life experiences shaped her performances in light comedy and television series throughout the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
