Biography

Kevin Eastman is a comic book artist and writer, best known for co-creating the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Peter Laird. Born on May 30, 1962, in Portland, Maine, he grew up as a comic book fan, influenced by Jack Kirby. In 1984, Eastman self-published the first issue of TMNT, which was largely funded by his uncle's loan and became an iconic underground comic series.
