Lina Carstens was a German film and theatre actress born on December 6, 1892, in Wiesbaden. She began her career at the Court Theatre in Karlsruhe before World War I, and later played the title role in Bertolt Brecht's "Mother Courage" in Konstanz. A prominent figure in post-war German cinema, she appeared in films by Douglas Sirk and directed by Bernhard Sinkel, including 1975's "Lina Braake".
