Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, also known as Carlos the Jackal, is a Venezuelan convict born on October 12, 1949. He conducted a series of assassinations and terrorist bombings from 1973 to 1985, protected and supported by the Stasi and the KGB. Convicted of multiple crimes, including the 1975 murder of an informant and the 1975 raid on the OPEC headquarters, he is currently serving three life sentences in France.
