Hideo Kanze was a Japanese actor and director specializing in Noh form of musical drama. Born on August 3, 1927, he began his Noh stage debut at age three under the guidance of his father and grandfather. After a tumultuous period with another Noh school, Kanze resumed his career in 1979, reviving his passion for the traditional art form.
