Yui Yoshioka, known mononymously as YUI, is a Japanese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born on March 26, 1987, in Fukuoka Prefecture. She rose to fame in 2004 after being discovered by Sony Music Japan at 17, and her debut single was released shortly after.
