Gannosuke Ashiya

Biography

Gannosuke Ashiya was a Japanese actor and singer, born on May 29, 1931. He began his career as a comedian under the tutelage of notable figures, including Manzai master Kan'ichiro "Kan no Ja" Hyodo and later, Osamu Kitagawa. In 1954, Ashiya joined the Os Music Hall and became a regular performer with renowned comedian, Hanayagi Dango, before transitioning to theater and becoming a key figure in the production company "Gekidan Smile Kingdoom".
