Michel Subor

Biography

Michel Subor was a French actor born Mischa Subotzki in France in 1935 to anti-Bolshevik parents from the Soviet Union. He gained initial fame with his starring role as Bruno Forestier in Jean-Luc Godard's Le petit soldat, and later starred in Alfred Hitchcock's Topaz and Claire Denis's Beau Travail, a highly praised variation of Billy Budd. Subor reprised his role as Forestier in Beau Travail in 1999, marking a notable comeback in his career.
