Biography

Barbara Valentin was an Austrian actress born Ursula Ledersteger in Vienna, Austria, to a family of artists. She gained prominence for her roles in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's films, including "Ali: Fear Eats the Soul" and "Playgirls of Frankfurt". Valentin was also known for her friendship with Freddie Mercury, who lived with her and her daughter in Munich, and her association with Queen's hit song "It's a Hard Life". She died at 61 due to a stroke.
