Martha

Margit Carstensen stars as Martha, a lonely librarian who finds herself trapped in a sadomasochistic relationship with her abusive husband Helmut (Karlheinz Böhm). After her father's death, Martha is caught up in a strange and controlling dynamic with Helmut, who subjects her to physical and emotional abuse. As Martha's condition worsens, she becomes increasingly paranoid and desperate for escape, but her husband's grip on her tightens, threatening her very life.
