Biography
Margit Carstensen was a German theatre and film actress known for her roles in the works of Rainer Werner Fassbinder. She gained national attention for her performances in Fassbinder's plays and films, including Bremen Freedom and The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant. Her acting career spanned over four decades, with notable collaborations with directors Christoph Schlingensief and Leander Haußmann. Carstensen received numerous awards throughout her career, including the Götz-George-Preis in 2019.
