Die dritte Generation

The Third Generation (Die Dritte Generation) is a 1979 West German film that satirically portrays the consequences of unwittingly becoming puppets of the West German government. A group of leftist radicals, including Petra Vielhaber (Margit Carstensen), Rudolf Mann (Harry Baer), and Hilde Krieger (Hark Bohm), are recruited by industrialist P.J. Lurz (Eddie Constantine) to stage a kidnapping as a way to boost sales of his security computers. As the group navigates their involvement, they are pursued by police inspector Gerhard Gast (Hark Bohm) and his daughter Susanne (Margit Carstensen), who is also an unwitting participant in the plan. The film explores the absurdity of the situation, with the group's ineptitude and personal struggles leading to a series of chaotic and violent events.
