Biography

Günther Kaufmann was a German film actor and protégé of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, with whom he collaborated on over a decade in 14 films. Notably, his career took a dramatic turn in 2005 when he was cleared of murder charges stemming from the accidental death of Hartmut Hagen, for which his wife had initially been accused. Kaufmann went on to resume his acting career following his exoneration. He tragically passed away in 2012.
