Biography

Derrick De Marney was a renowned English stage and film actor and producer of French and Irish ancestry. Born on September 21, 1906, he began his career on the London stage in 1922 and transitioned to films in 1928, earning a long-term contract with Alexander Korda after his performance in Young Mr Disraeli. He is perhaps best known for starring in Alfred Hitchcock's Young and Innocent as Robert Tisdall, falsely accused of murder.
