Biography

Paul Wegener was a German actor and writer who pioneered Expressionist films. He gained international recognition for his breakout role in The Student of Prague (1913) and later starred in the classic horror film The Golem: How He Came into the World (1920). Throughout his career, Wegener defied the Nazi era to continue making films until his final appearance in 1948.
