William Tannen was an American actor and writer born in New York City on November 17, 1911. He began his career as a stage debut with the National Theatre troupe, later becoming a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer contract player in the 1930s and 1940s. Notably, he played Deputy Hal Norton in 56 episodes of The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp from 1956 to 1958.
