Born on December 31, 1948, in Pensacola, Florida, he began his career posing for homoerotic photographs before joining Andy Warhol's Factory and starring in Lonesome Cowboys (1968). His performance in Flesh (1968) brought him fame, and he went on to star in several other notable underground films.
