Howard Goorney

Biography

Howard Goorney was a Manchester-born Jewish actor and founder member of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop. He wrote The Theatre Workshop Story, a definitive account of the company's early years. Notable for his stage roles in Bill Bryden's The Mysteries and Lark Rise to Candleford at the National Theatre, as well as appearances in film classics like Fiddler on the Roof and The Hill.
