Franco Fabrizi

Biography

Franco Fabrizi was an Italian actor born in Cortemaggiore on February 15, 1926, who rose to fame with a supporting role in Michelangelo Antonioni's Chronicle of a Love (1950) and later became synonymous with the character of Fausto in Federico Fellini's I vitelloni. Known as "the Cary Grant all'italiana," he went on to appear in several notable films, including Death in Venice and Luchino Visconti's Execution Squad. Fabrizi's career spanned from fotoromanzi to major Italian cinema productions before his untimely death from colon cancer in 1995 at the age of 69.
