David Alan Ladd was born on February 5, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, to actor Alan Ladd and actress talent agent Sue Carol. He began his professional career in Hollywood at age 10 with a supporting role in "The Big Land" (1957) opposite his father. Ladd's breakout performance came in 1958 with a Golden Globe-winning role as Paul Beebe in "Misty".
