Raoul Coutard
Biography
Raoul Coutard was a French cinematographer known for his work with the French New Wave (Nouvelle Vague) period, particularly with director Jean-Luc Godard. He collaborated with Godard on numerous films, including Breathless and Weekend, and also shot films for François Truffaut and Jacques Demy. A prolific photographer and cinematographer, Coutard worked on over 75 films during his nearly half-century-long career. He began his career as a war photographer in Vietnam.
