Biography

Frankie Howerd was a renowned English comedian and comic actor whose six-decade career spanned notable roles in films such as "Carry on Up the Jungle" and "The Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery". Born Francis Alick Howard in 1917, he initially began his acting career with an early stage appearance at 13 but was rejected by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Howerd eventually found success during World War II as a comedian, adopting the surname "Howerd" for distinction.
