Gunnar Eyjólfsson was a celebrated Icelandic actor born on February 24, 1926, in Keflavík. He began his career with the Reykjavík Theatre Company and went on to win numerous awards for his performances, including the Silver Lamp Award and the RADA Shakespeare Award. A notable film appearance included Thórður in "The Sea," for which he won the 2002 Edda Award for Best Leading Actor.
