Biography

Dora May Broadbent, known as Dora Bryan OBE, was a versatile English actress who began her career in pantomime before the Second World War and joined ENSA in Italy to entertain British troops. She established herself on stage, appearing in productions such as "Noël Coward's Private Lives," and went on to have a successful film and television career, including starring roles in "Hands of the Ripper" and "The Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery." Bryan won a BAFTA Award for Best British Actress for her role in "A Taste of Honey" and an OBE in 1996.
