Biography

Sylvie Testud was born on January 17, 1971 in Lyon and grew up in Croix-Rousse, raised by her mother, an accountant. She began acting at a young age, influenced by Charlotte Gainsbourg's performance in L'Effrontée, and took drama classes with Christian Taponard before studying history and drama in Paris. Her breakthrough roles include Beyond Silence (1996) and La Captive (2000), earning her nominations for best actress awards.
