Biography

Vanity was a Canadian-born singer, songwriter, dancer, model, and actress born Denise Katrina Matthews on January 4, 1959. She rose to fame as the lead singer of the female trio Vanity 6, known for their hit song "Nasty Girl," before embarking on a solo career and later becoming an evangelist. After years of struggling with addiction, Vanity devoted herself to her church in Fremont, California, until her untimely death from kidney failure in 2016 at age 57.
